A Typical Day

Our daily schedule offers time for children to participate in both group activities and independent child choice activities.

Breakfast

Children are provided with healthy breakfast including cereals, milk and learn manners such as eating without spilling.

Self-Registration

Children learn to recognise their names and register themselves for the day.

Calendar

Children then identify the Date and the Day of the Week followed by marking the weather for the day.

Morning Circle Time

This is their time to articulate about a range of things such as things
they did at weekend, football, family picnics; They also mark how they are feeling on the Mood Chart.

Focus Activity

A key worker then carries out focused activity with each child based on their needs and interests.

Theme of the Week

Children then engage in activities relating to the theme which can be selected based on a range of things such as festivals, weather, season, sports.

Morning Snack time

Children are provided with healthy snacks, milk, fruit, rice cakes,
cheese and crackers.

Free Play with Continuous Provision

Children explore the different areas of the nursery such as construction, writing wall, reading corner, messy play area.

Lunch time

Children are provided with healthy meal including meals to meet their dietary needs. We provide halal, vegetarian and vegan options as well.

Reading Time

Children are engaged in a variety of topics through focused book reading, themed books, storytelling.

Messy Play

Children can engage in indoor and outdoor messy play involving digging, sand, mud play. Our messy play strictly does not include food items as we do not want to waste food. The setting has plenty of bird feeds and other options to lay out unused food for birds.

Afternoon Circle Time

Children sing nursery rhymes, learn numbers, colours, shapes and phonics.

Afternoon Snack Time

Children are provided with healthy snacks, fruits and veggies.

Focused Outdoor Play

Focused outdoor play: Children are then supervised on outdoor play where they can engage in a variety of games in the excellent outdoors our setting has to offer. We sometimes will also go for walks where they learn to appreciate nature. The children play outside to increase their gross motor skills using tricycles, bikes, cars, slides, sand, as well as an outdoor construction and kitchen area, which contains stones, pebbles, shovels, kitchen equipment.

Sensory Play

Sensory play allows children to develop their sensory abilities such as touch, feel, hearing by engaging in activities such as mark making, painting, gluing, mirrors.

Nap

Children can take short naps if required during the day and we have excellent environment where they learn to rest and recharge their batteries

Tidy Up

The children also learn to clean up after their free play. We usually use the tidy up song to motivate them to clean up as well as reward them with stickers

End of Typical Day

The typical nursery day ends and children are ready to head home.
